Anosha Khan
Is a Canadian Visual Artist based in London, England
I have been working with various mediums, including painting, sculpture & media. I find myself subconsciously making decisions in projects, that help me further understand parts of my past that I had tried to hide from. I am interested in exploring various perspectives of situations that had occurred. I use memories as a starting point, but equally, find memories being evoked as I become more immersed in the work. The process becomes therapeutic, in that it helps me make connections and understand my experiences. I have recently been interested in using the symbolic quality of patterns, exploring how relationships we tend to enter can generally be categorized by patterns of behaviours, in ourselves, as well as those we accept from others. I want to see how our cultures, childhood, and environment affect the decisions we make. The intentions are to further continue to develop a visual language, so I can become able to use my work as a way of communicating my experiences, and find ways to empower women so they are not placed in vulnerable situations.
